MENTAL HEALTH POSTERS

In partnership with the National Institution of Mental Health, these posters were designed to bring more attention to certain forms of mental health. The layout of these posters allows for them to be used as a campaign to educated people about these mental health topics and they could also be focused towards anyone dealing with any situation in their life that includes anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. The typographic layout and design of each poster was tailored to portray each of these topics in a similar way to how a person feels when experiencing them. The repeated letters of “anxiety” along with them being scattered around the poster, gives a scene of restlessness, being wound up, and feeling on edge, which can all be experienced when someone has anxiety. The faded letters of “depression” as well as them all leading downward is to show the feelings of emptiness, lack of energy, and hopelessness. Finally, the letters of “obsessive” appear in a disorganized circle with each letter being skewed slightly different from the next. The circular layout is to show the repetitiveness that can happen with OCD and the skewed sizes of the letters causes the need for them be symmetrical and arranged in a way that is perfect for someone with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
